Conditions of Entry

The following conditions of entry apply to all patrons who attend Windows to the World.

Each participating embassy or high commission may have further entry conditions and requirements, please refer to each individual program listing for details.

Restricted and Prohibited Items

Patrons are not permitted to bring the following items:

  • flares, fireworks, knives, weapons or any device that has the potential to cause injury or public nuisance;
  • any prohibited substance;
  • all animals, except registered guiding, hearing or companion animals

Refusal of Entry

For the comfort, safety and enjoyment of patrons, Management reserves the right to:

  • refuse entry at their discretion;
  • refuse entry to, or evict any person deemed to be intoxicated or affected by a prohibited substance;
  • refuse entry to, or evict any unauthorised person; and
  • refuse entry to any person who attempts to bring any restricted or prohibited item into the event site.

General Conditions

  • Entry to Windows to the World is free, but patrons may incur a charge for some activities and purchases.
  • Bookings may be required for tours and activities, and numbers are strictly limited.
  • Patrons may be expected to present Photo ID at some embassies and high commissions.
  • Food and drink is available at most participating venues. Please consider allergen statements presented by food providers at participating venues, and note that no assurance can be provided by Events ACT.
  • Bag checks may be performed at participating venues.
  • Patrons are admitted at their own risk. Events ACT will not be held responsible for the death or injury of any patron during their attendance at Windows to the World.
  • Patrons agree to indemnify Events ACT against liability in respect of all claims, costs and expenses and for all loss, damage, injury or death to persons or property caused by the patron in connection with their attendance at Windows to the World, except to the extent that Events ACT caused the relevant loss, damage or injury.
  • Windows to the World must not be used for any political or other demonstration.
  • Unless approved by Management, the distribution of brochures, flyers, pamphlets or vouchers of any kind is not permitted.
  • Patrons must obey all signs, notices and directions given by Management.
  • Patrons attending Windows to the World may be photographed, filmed and/or taped and it is deemed that a person, by attending Windows to World, consents to the ACT Government or third parties appointed by the ACT Government photographing, filming or taping. The ACT Government or third parties appointed by the ACT Government can broadcast, publish, licence and use any photographs, film, recordings or images without compensation. The ACT Government, third parties and anyone acquiring from them a right to use the material are not liable to the subject for its use in any way.
  • Parking and accessibility may vary at each participating venue. Please refer to each individual event listing for details of available facilities.
  • There are no ATM or card facilities available at Windows to the World – please bring cash.
  • Booked activities and tours will depart on time. Please allow ample time for parking and security clearance, where required.

Smoke Free Windows to the World

Windows to the World is a smoke-free event. Smoking is prohibited at any participating venue.
